Task:
I designed, launched, and lead Avanan’s first-ever global channel program to drive new partner sourced revenue, expand the sales pipeline, and increase market reach through strategic partnerships. Built and implemented the complete global channel program from the ground up, including engagement strategy, training, incentives, and a centralized partner portal.

Action:
Recruited and onboarded 63 new global resellers and distributors. Hired and managed a team of 4 Channel Account Managers across the U.S. to execute partner strategies
Executed a strategic channel growth playbook, establishing co-sell motions with top partners, including SHI, GuidePoint Security, Optiv, CDW and many others.

Seamless Remote Work Transition During COVID-19

Situation:
Avanan, an email security startup company, had no formal global channel program in place and needed to scale its reseller driven revenue quickly to accelerate global growth and presence in the partner community.

Results:
Increased reseller-driven revenue by 270% and expanded the sales pipeline by 600% within 6 months. Partner transacted deals vs direct deals increased from 23% to 76% within 1 year.


Task:
My goal as Director of Channels was to significantly grow their email security business, expand their sales reach, and position them as a top-producing partner for our solutions since they were fully engaged with my team and I.

Action:
I implemented a targeted partner growth plan that included tailored account based campaigns, strategic enablement sessions, and dedicated joint customer engagements. I worked closely with head of sales to identify high-potential accounts, equip them with competitive positioning tools, and co-sell opportunities. We also developed training to onboard additional sellers and deepen their technical and sales expertise in our solutions.

Situation:
In 2022, Six Degrees Consulting, a boutique Chicago-based partner selling Check Point products, had limited presence in email security sales—generating just $270K annually—with only the owner actively selling to SLED and mid-sized customers.

Results:
Email security sales grew from $270K in 2022 to $900K in 2023, and reached $1.9M in 2024. The partner is on track to achieve nearly $3M in 2025 in email security revenue. In addition, they expanded from a single seller to a team of six, significantly increasing market coverage and driving continued growth in the United States.


Task:
As Director of Channels, I needed to elevate our channel program’s profile by demonstrating its strategic value, measurable impact, and contribution to customer growth, success and education. We also needed to ensure we offered resources and incentives to partners t help with selling efforts.Ensuring we met the criteria for inclusion and high placement in industry awards and reports was a key part of my role in ensuring high rankings with these analysts.

Action:
I engaged directly with analysts from Gartner, Forrester, Omdia, and G2, delivering briefings on our channel strategy, growth metrics, and partner enablement initiatives and programs. I provided data points and case studies showcasing partner led revenue, customer success outcomes, and competitive differentiation. I also aligned our channel messaging with analyst’s to ensure our strengths were clearly articulated and recognized.

Situation:
Our company was seeking to strengthen its market position and earn recognition in key industry reports to continue our market disruption and expansion. By doing so we decided as a team we needed to obtain recognition from well known technology analysts such as Gartner, Forrester, Omdia, and G2 and other. . Historically, our channel program had not been prominently showcased to these analysts, limiting our visibility in such evaluations.

Results:
Our efforts led Avanan and Harmony Email as being recognized as one of 4 leaders in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant, a leader in the 2023 Forrester Wave Achieved the most 5 star reviews for email security on Gartner Peer Insights in 2021 and named a leader in G2 and Omdia. These accolades not only validated our channel program’s effectiveness but also enhanced market credibility, supporting further sales growth, brand and solution recognition and increase partner engagement and reach.
